Senior Pastor

Rev. Rhodes was born at the Naval Air Station in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba before moving to Florida, where he grew up in and graduated from high school in Jacksonville, Florida. He met his wife Judy in Jacksonville and they have been married for 39 years. They have four grown, married children and three grandsons.

Steve graduated from Florida State University in 1972 with a Bachelor’s and Master’s of Social Work. He served as a counselor for several years before moving to Daytona Beach, Florida, where he was Area Director for Young Life International. Steve then enrolled in Columbia Theological Seminary, graduating in 1982 with a Master of Divinity.

Rev. Rhodes was ordained in October 1982 and has served congregations in Georgia, Florida ,Utah and South Carolina.

Steve has a passion for preaching and teaching along with youth and mission work. Rev. Rhodes has been at Second Presbyterian since November of 2000.
